Janitor– Indian Island
The Mi’gmaq Child and Family Services of New Brunswick Inc. (MCFSNB) is seeking an individual to join their team as a Janitor. The janitor plays a key role in improving the lives of children and their families by maintaining a safe and clean environment for employees, clients, and community members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Offices and Youth Buildings:
Kitchens:
• Sanitizing appliances, countertops and light switches (daily);
• Sweep and mop floors (daily);
• Clean countertops, change garbage, start dishwasher and put dishes away (daily);
• Replace paper towel (daily);
• Dust window ledges, clean windows, inside fridge, inside microwave and toaster (as needed).
Bathrooms:
• Clean toilet bowl, toilet base and seat (daily);
• Clean sink/tap, sanitize countertops, wash mirror, change dispenser, sanitize, sweep and mop floors (daily);
• Replace toilet paper, dust baseboards, replace soap, restock paper towel (as needed).
Conference rooms/foyer:
• Sanitize door knobs, change garbage, sweep and mop floors, sanitize table and chairs, empty shredder (daily);
• Dust window ledge, wash windows, replace water jug, refill cups (as needed);
Admin areas and hallways:
• Sanitize door knobs, change garbage, sweep and mop floors, sanitize table and chairs, empty shredder, shake mats at the doors (daily);
• Dust window ledges and printer, wash windows, replace water jug, refill cups, dust exit signs, and refill sanitizers (as needed).
Stairways:
• Dust ledges, sanitize railings/light switches, sweep/mop (daily);
• Dust lights/baseboards (as needed).
Activity rooms:
• Sanitize door knobs/table/chairs/couch, sweep/mop floors, change garbage, shake mats at the doors (daily);
• Dust window ledges, wash windows, replace water jug, refill cups, dust exit signs, refill sanitizers (as needed).
This position will also perform other related duties as required to support the team.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduation from High School or GED with related work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A solid understanding of Mi’gmaq culture, values, traditions and socioeconomic conditions as well as a demonstrated passion and commitment to enhancing the lives of children are also requirements of the position.

SALARY RANGE:
$900.00 weekly as well as competitive pension and benefit programs.
